Ness Psychological Services was created to meet the rapidly-increasing need for individuals and families seeking high-quality, individualized, and integrated mental health services. As an experienced licensed clinical psychologist, I am dedicated to our community and neighboring suburbs to building and operating a family-owned private practice that meets the behavioral and social-emotional needs of children, adolescents, and adults.
I work with clients to improve their quality of life and make important changes, develop new plans, learn a new mindset, and understand yourself, your child or family better. I provide therapy and psychological testing services to individuals, couples, and families in all phases of life.

Hello! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dr. Jason Ness and I am the President and Co-Founder of Ness Psychological Services, a family-owned private practice located in Lake Zurich, IL., a northwest suburb of Chicago, where I have resided with my family since 2005.
For over 20 years, I have provided therapy, psychological testing, educational leadership, school consultation, presentations, and workshops in a wide variety of professional settings including private practice, K-12 public education, and higher education as a licensed clinical psychologist, certified school psychologist, and cabinet-level school administrator. I am a graduate of Loyola University - Chicago, where I earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in 2004.
Throughout my career, I have always maintained a practical, solution-focused approach to serve the individual needs of my clients. My broad range of life and professional experiences allows me to provide a well-rounded and individualized treatment plan that is consistent with best practice for each person I serve.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D.) and a member of the Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO panel of providers. There are BCBS plans which I am not a provider including Blue Choice and HMO plans; so please check with your plan to determine whether or not I am a in-network provider. Also, it will be important to clarify whether your mental health services are covered by BCBS and not a different plan. When I am considered an in-network provider by your plan, you should understand your deductible, co-insurance, or co-pay responsibilities. You should also ask whether pre-certification is required prior to therapy or psychological testing. While I am out of network for insurance plans such as CIGNA, Humana, Aetna, etc., you may still be able to receive some coverage from your insurance company. When you call your insurance company, just ask what the coverage is for out-of-network providers. Your well-being is my ultimate concern. During therapy sessions, I'll work collaboratively with you to solve current challenges and improve positive thinking , behavior and outcomes. I will help you reframe your perceptions, reactions and develop a personal operating system that will provide you with valuable tools and insights to cope with life’s obstacles. I utilize integrative therapy, which is a progressive form of psychotherapy that combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of the individual client. An integrative approach can be used to treat individuals struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, work-related issues, and other emotional struggles that interfere with their potential. I will partner with you to discover your stuck points, establish mutually determined goals, and become empowered to experience the confidence and personal growth you are seeking. In addition to working in private practice as a licensed clinical psychologist, I have served in a variety of leadership roles in K-12 public education including certified school psychologist, director of an alternative special education therapeutic school, assistant principal for student services, and as principal of an award winning and highly diverse suburban high school. Over the years, I have presented at state and national conferences, including the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Illinois Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, on topics such as diversity, equity, and inclusion, social-emotional learning, and school-based instructional rounds. I can provide your school an in-depth knowledge of school systems and structures such as multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and direct and indirect interventions that focus on academic skills, mental health, and social-emotional learning using data-based decision making.
